LATUR DISTRICT IS ONE OF THE BETTER-DEVELOPED DISTRICT OF MAHARASHTRA. HOWEVER, IN ABSOLUTE TERMS THERE IS STILL A LARGE GAP BETWEEN THE HEALTH STATUS OF LATUR DISTRICT AS COMPARED TO THAT OF STATE AVERAGE AND SOME OTHER DISTRICTS OF WESTERN MAHARASHTRA . THERE ARE CONSIDERABLE VARIATIONS ACROSS THE BLOCKS THAT NECESSITATE SETTING UP OF BLOCKS SPECIFIC TARGETS.
